According to the CAN SPAM act of 2004, the US requires companies to adhere to certain rules when emailing folks. By allowing email functionality and not automatically tracking unsubscribes or providing instructions on how to opt out your US clients may be in for a rude awakening to the tune of $250 per email.
ANY and ALL functioning CRMs that holds data for US citizens should have a built in option to designate an unsubscribe in the system and clear language added to all outgoing emails. This is essentially GDPR compliance for the states and needs to be treated as such.
I am stating this all clearly because anyone with properties based in the US and using ET may not know, so please be aware. Feel free to comment if you have questions. I've been building CRMs for over 10 years and can show you how we solved this internally for the property I work with.
